2010 Baking/Cooking Classes/Demonstrations
Saturday, April 17th, 2:00 p.m.- "The Art of Quick Breads"with Linda Ballard
Continuing monthly special interest food and beverage classes/demonstrations, The Canon City ity Queen Anne Tea House will host "The Art of Quick Breads," Saturday, April 17th, 2:00 p.m. Reservations Required, 719 275-5354, phone or text and email: [email protected]. Cost is $30.00 per person (capacity 30,) to include scones, devonshire cream, fresh brewed hot tea, recipes, tips and take home samples. The tea house is equipped with a media center system allowing for the broadcasting of the cooking demonstration to the themed tea rooms, allowing guests to enjoy tea and watch the demonstration or join the crew in the demonstration kitchen for more of hands on feeling.
The "The Art of Quick Breads" forum will provide education in how to make quick breads as well as other tips, recipes, said, Linda Ballard, owner. We will focus on techniques, basics to help the home baker make things look good and taste delicious.
Linda continued, "you will get to taste some of the quick breads made during the forum, enjoy tea, scones and take home samples to share with family or friends."

April 17th- Quick Breads, Are yours moist, fluffy, light textured? by Linda Ballard, (Biscuits, Scones, Pancakes, Banana Bread, Muffins, Corn Bread, Brown Bread,) Come and find out how to make them, including high altitude tips.
May 22nd - Rye Bread Baking by guest baker, Laura Carey, (dark, light, polish, etc.)
June 19th - Grilling by Al and Linda Ballard
July 17th - Italian Cooking with Pasta Making by Linda Ballard (Linda is 1/2 Italian, 1/2 German heritage.)
August 21st - German dishes by Linda Ballard (Linda is 1/2 German, 1/2 Italian heritage.)
September 18th - Back to School, simple and delicious 5 ingredient meals, Queen Anne verison of the 30 minute meal by Linda Ballard
October 16th - Cookie Decorating and Hawlloween ideas by Linda Ballard
No demonstrations in November or December (due to Holiday Schedule.)

The Queen Anne tea house seats thirty with each room having a HDTV that captures the cooking demonstration which is broadcast from a Paula Deen look-a-like kitchen in the Queen Anne. Guests are served hot loose leaf tea, scones, devonshire cream during cooking demonstration and all guests get to sample the cooking, as well as take home cooking tips, recipes, and samples of the daily event.
